Facebook on Tuesday designed a recently developed shopping button in WhatsApp live globally, including in India also, to help people purchase available products and make purchases right from a chat platform.
The tool will produce it easier for people to discover a business classification so they know what goods or services it offers.
Previously, people had to tap into the business’ profile to check if the business had a catalog.
“Now, when a person watches the shopping button, which appears like a storefront icon, they will instantly know the business has a catalog so they can browse products and start a talking about an item they see with just one click,” the company announced in a statement.
This will also make it painless for businesses to have their products discovered, which can help maximize sales.
More than 175 million people chat a WhatsApp Business account every day, and more than 40 million people watch a business’ catalog each month – including grater than three million in India.
In a recent survey, 76 percent of adults in India said that “I am more likely to do business purchase from a manufacturer that I can contact via texting than one that I cannot”.
The new shopping button is accessible now across the world and will replace the voice call button.
To do the voice call button, simply click on the call button to choose either a voice or video call.
“In the upcoming days, we’ll make it practicable to add goods to a cart and check out, all within WhatsApp,” Facebook said last month.
Facebook announced it will finally begin charging companies using WhatsApp for Business, as it expanded ways for its users to check out available products and make buyes right from a chat.
Some 50 million businesses text a WhatsApp Business account every-day and this step will help WhatsApp continue growing a business of its own while it provides and avast free end-to-end secure text, video, and voice calling for more than two billion people.
